Senior Accountant – Financial Services Brokerage & Fund Accounting

We specialize in assisting Commodity Trading Advisors (“CTA”), Commodity Pool Operators (“CPO”), Introducing Brokers (“IB”), and Futures Commission Merchant’s (“FCM”) working within the alternative and derivatives investment space. Responsibilities: Turnkey is seeking a senior accountant to assist primarily in our book keeping specialty area.  Day-to-day obligations will require potential hires to develop and maintain accurate records for various regulated brokerage and trading companies.  This will include book keeping duties primarily utilizing Intuit QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to generate accounting reports (general ledger, income statement, balance sheet, trade performance reporting etc.). The role will also require a detailed understanding of US GAAP accrual accounting. Turnkey’s clients are required by US federal regulation under CFTC and NFA standards to report financial information in a very specific and exacting way.  Clients of the company require monthly support to ensure government filings and records are maintained accurately for filing in a timely fashion. Existing processes are in place. Training will be provided on the job by senior company staff members. Candidates will be joining a team of highly trained professionals to streamline and improve existing operations for scalability. Turnkey’s accounting department has grown rapidly in the last twelve months. We anticipate this growth to continue into the foreseeable future. This is a fast-growing company and industry.  Candidates will be required to assist with further developing existing accounting and performance reporting operations and scalability. Potential hires must be able to independently process accounting journal entries, gather accounting information from customers, communicate clearly with customers, and compile accounting work product for delivery to clients on a monthly basis.

Required Skills: Previous experience in financial services accounting. Mastery of Quickbooks and Excel absolutely essential. Strong English communication/explanation skills for support and dialog with existing customers will be essential. Must be able to clearly communicate via email and/or phone.  College Degree preferred but not necessarily required can be supplemented by relevant experience. CPA preferred but not necessarily required.  Strong business and accounting related references required. Candidates should be at least somewhat familiar with SEC/FINRA/CFTC/NFA brokerage and trading accounting obligations.
